1947 CJ2A Willys Jeep civilian

Make & Model: Willys Jeep Civilian

Year: 1947

Owner: Scott Kendell

“I bought in the Willys Jeep from a man in the UK.  He had imported 2 , kept one (1956 Willys) , and sold me the 1947 CJ2A. I managed to track down the original owners daughter. She sent me a mail briefly telling me her dad had bought the jeep from new and used it on his farm in California. After passing away , the jeep was put into storage, and then 25 years later it was in the UK for 2 months and now in my possession in Ireland. I received her running and in great condition for a 73 year old vehicle but had no brakes which is understandable from sitting for so long.”

“I then tore her down and rebuilt her up from a bare chassis. Unfortunately covid hit and things slowed down alot but I cracked on and she is nearly finished. All work on the jeep was done by myself with the exception of machine work on the engine block and a radiator service. “

“She originally had 33000 miles on the clock and the clock was still working when I first drove her. I have replaced alot of parts , nuts bolts etc but kept all the old parts. New wire loom original Willys,  5 new tyres, tubes, and inners , the list is huge. I still have a couple of things still to come in from the states then she’s ready for the road. I did not respray her as the original paint work was still in mint condition. I polished up all body work and clear coated her to keep the original patina. A few small rusted areas I treated aswell.”
